  • Description

    Pileus 6 cm broad, dry convex, heavily and intensely rugose pitted, cocoa brown (6E6-5-4). Flesh 8 mm thick, white, changing to pink then pinkish brown, with mild odor and taste. Tubes deeply depressed around stipe, yellowish white (4A2), pinkish avellaneous when exposed; pores concolorous, <1 mm broad, staining brown when bruised. Stipe 11 cm long, 1 cm broad, clavate, glabrous and ridged at apex, progressively more black scabrous below; interior white, blue green in base, pink then pinkish brown above.
