In deep hunrus in oak forest, supported by large tree
trunk. Air roots rising 10 feet, then with trunk base
issuing 4 vertical trunks each over 7 inches in diam,
and ascending 35 feet. Bark pale brown, -smooth but
with prominent node rings. Leaves dark green above,
lustrous. Flowers pujipy, basal parts very sweet (ed-
ible), fls. varying from buff tinged with crimson to
deep crimson red, ca. one inch diameter.
