Vilas County, Wisconsin
Lamiaceae
Lamiastrum galeobdolon (L.) Ehrendorfer & Polatschek.
T43N R06E S13 NE4NW4.
46.21339°N 89.69537°W (WGS84).
Just south of the south end of Annabelle Lake Road, where it splits
into three narrow private roads.
Population of about 600 m2, initiated when the landowner planted a
few shoots 20 years ago (Ted Ritter, Vilas County Invasive Species
Coordinator, pers. comm.) Patch had been sprayed with herbicide
by late September 2012. Flowers bright yellow, with fine orange lines
on the lower lip.
Rich mesic soil, in moderate to deep shade of large Acer saccharum
and scattered Abies balsamea. Seems to be outcompeting sparse,
variegated Aegopodium podagraria.
Same population as SG 502 (OSH, UWSP) and 804 (UWSP, WIS).
