limestone gravel and fine whitish soil and red clay, w/ Echihnacea,
Pinus and Artemisia.

Low, loosely matted per to 4 dm across, lvs erect, margns slightly
revolute, linear spatulate to oblanceolate, infls capitate on tomentose
scapes to 1 dm, perianth white, pubescent.
