go to the outer, drier border of basin swamp.
Rich shaded woods with mixed hardwoods, in
organic sandy brown (limestone) soil. Small
herbs to 5 dm tall. Growing with many other
herbaceous sp., e.g. Juncus aichotomus, Polyganum
setaceum, Verbesina virginica, Oplismenus
setarius.
