GLASS MOUNTAIN REGION: Long Valley; wet saltgrass
meadow road crossing appx. 3km NW of Benton Crossing of
Owens River. (Whitmore Hot Sprs. quad: 37° 42.88'N, 118°
47.033'W; T3S R29E S4, SE/4 of NW/4). Alt.: 2090m/6855ft.
Actively grazed wet tributary to Owens River. Alkaline silty
pumice soil with sandy low berms above. Still water densly
thatched with Carex praegracilis, Juncus balticus, Triglochin
concinna, Pyrrocoma racemosa. Crusty white alkaline areas above
water with Distichlis spicata, Sarcobatus vermiculatus,
intergrading into open Artemisia tridentata scrub with
Chrysothamnus nauseosus, C. viscidiflorus, Leymus cinereus.
Abundant, dominant Corap. on wet areas of saltgrass meadow.
