CAMAS COUNTY: T02NR14E S13 NEVi. In and mostly around Gooding Cow
Camp holding corrals, grass-herb meadows of sagebrush-forest montane valley
bottom and toeslopes, along Basalt Creek, Soldier Mountains, ca. 19 air-km NNE
of Fairfield, Sawtooth National Forest. Rays bright yellow, conspicuous, 18-
24/head, 10mm long X 3.8mm wide to 16mm long X 1.9mm wide; heads 1-
8/stem, appearing subsessile to mostly paniculate; stems strongly decurved at base
to nearly erect, plants 12-45cm tall; achenes hairy. Full sun. Thousands of plants
over tens of acres continuing N and S along upper edges of creek meadows, with
Stipa, Poa, Eriogonum, Aster, Antermaria, Lupinus, Chrysothamnus,
Calochortus. Heavy livestock use. Same site as Blackburn 17A. Coll B is
“intermediate sized plants-outside corrals”, compare w/colls. A,C,D,E.
