Packera tomentosa (Michx.) C. Jeffrey
McCURTAIN CO.: Ouachita National Forest,
Hwy 3, 0.6 mi N of Haworth, 8 mi E of Idabel.
Habitat: Very wet roadside ditch, near a cleared
pasture and across the road from a pine forest.
Abundant at this site, smaller patches scattered
up and down roadside nearby.
jants: Heavy dense tomentum on leaves and
stem. Many flowering specimens with
numerous sterile rosettes also present. Many,
but not all plants with purple tinged leaves.
Some plants have > 20 ray florets and few disc
florets, but most with 12-16 rays. Rays 9-11
mm long.
