Crevices in northwest rock face/cliff, 55% slope, aspect 318°, in montane chaparral habitat, on shale / brock shale. Associated species: Quercus vacciniifolia, Garrya fremontii, Holodiscus microphyllus, Lomatium macrocarpum, Castilleja applegatei, Ageratina shastensis, Penstemon azureus, Eriogonum nudum, Eriogonum sp., Elymus elymoides, Aspidotis dens a, Minuartia douglasii.
