Flora of California, U.S.A. Crassulaceae: Sedum kiersteadiae B.L. Wilson & R.E. Brainerd SISKIYOU COUNTY: Gray Rocks Lake; downslope of trail to lake near trailhead; T39N R5W S21, SE XA of SE 1/4; UTM zone 10, 546913 east, 4563536 north, +/- 9 feet (NAD83). Elevation 5830 feet. Petals spreading, yellow with red on midrib on external side. Anthers yellow-brown, becoming dark red brown to black with age. Plants with a high proportion of vegetative shoots. Common in rocky areas all along trail; most plants not yet in bloom. Montane chaparral openings on granitic and other boulder/rock slopes in open mixed conifer forest. Easterly aspect (70°). Associated species: Quercus vacciniifolia, Arctostaphylos nevadensis, Penstemon sp., Castilleja sp., Arenaria sp., Eriogonum sp., Senecio integerrimus, Cheilanthes gracillima, Antennaria media.
