STARR CO.: common, one of the more conspicuous species
in wet clay along mostly unshaded margin of stock tank on
Las Estrellas Preserve, on gentle slope underlain by
mudstones and claystones of the Catahoula and Frio
formations (undivided), ca. 0.3-0.4 miles W of R. M. 3167
from a point 7-8 roadmiles N of jet. US Rt. 83 at W edge of
Rio Grande City, at N26°28'29.5”, W098°52’25.4”. Rio
Grande City North Quadrangle. Elev. 270 ft.
Associates included Aster subulatus, Cynodon dactylon, Cyperus elegans,
Eleocharis palustris, Leptochloa sp., Pluchea odorata, Salix nigra, Typha
domingensis.
