U.S.A., California, Siskiyou County:
Interstate 5 at W base of Mt. Shasta, ca 7 mi S of Weed.
Moist meadow and ditch beside highway. Vegetation:
Calocedrus, Abies concolor and Pinus ponderosa. Growing
with Juncus and Carex. Stems mostly unbranched, tall to very
short-considerable variability in stem length and width. This
specimen is at the larger end for both. Flowers blue-violet (not
at all purplish as in coastal S. bellum). No tepal slides made.
Live plants collected, one pressed.
