The New York Botanical Garden Plants of U.S. A. Asteraceae Silphium terebinthinaceum Jacq. det. M. Nee, 2007 Wisconsin, Richland Co., along Dog Hollow Road, narrow valley with deciduous woods on slopes and old field in narrow, flatter part in bottom. T 11 N; R 2 E; SW lA SW l/4 Sect. 29. 43°23’46”N, 90°17’23”W. alt. 300 m. Apparently a prairie establishment, looking like an old field with much Zizia aurea, except for some of the species. With Silphium perfoliatum which would be unlikely but possible in this habitat. The other two species of Silphium (S. terebinthinaceum and S. laciniatum) are undoubtedly planted. This is undoubtedly planted; otherwise unknown in the wild state in Richland County. Old dry plants to 3 m. tall. Coll.: M. Nee 55450 28 May 2007 03109754
