A.Gray MOJAVE DESERT: Fort Tejon Road, 0.1 mile W of its junction with Hwy 138 (& hiking ± S to SSW), ca 0.25- 0.3 miles W of the county line. Mescal Creek USGS 7.5' Quadrangle; T4N R8W, SE/4 NW/4 NE/4 and NE/4 SW/4 NE/4 section 12. Elevation ca 3880-3950 feet. Gradual NNE slope on alluvial fan emanating from Le Montaine Creek (San Gabriel Mtns); vegetation dominated locally by Larrea tridentata, Yucca brevifolia, Juniperus ccdifornica, Eriogonumfasciculatum polifolium, Salvia dorrii pilosa, etc. Locally scattered annual in openings ; buds erect.
