Medium tier canopy mixed acid forest (Acer saccharum, Carya, Ilex, Pinus virginiana, Prunus serotina, Quercus alba, Q. falcata, Q. prinus) with Vaccinium understory over sandy soils. Corticolous on Quercus prinus.
