Fault, east side of Swarthout Canyon Road along Cajon
Creek south of its crossing, San Bernardino National
Forest, San Bernardino Mountains; west of Route 1-15.
Elevation 2670-2720 feet. Margins of wash with
boulders of metamorphic, granitic gneiss, schist
substrate, well-drained sand, gravel.
Margin of chaparral, shrubland, in creek wash.
Dominants: Eriogonumfasciculatum, Platanus
racemosa, Ceanothus spp., Quercus chrysolepis,
Lupinus spp., Eriodictyum trichocalyx. Flowers very
pale lavender-pink, foliage with pleasant sweet sage
aroma; occasional soft woolly shrubby perennial 1 meter
tall.
