PARKER CO.: annual; rays orange-yellow, tridentate at
apex, maroon basally; common in gravel and silt in
unshaded bed of intermittent or wet-weather stream draining
rolling landscape underlain by Cretaceous limestone and
supporting prairie vegetation, just upstream from a stock
tank in south-central part of ranch, ca. 2.4 airmiles NW of
US Rt. 377 bridge over Bear Creek, at N32°36’18.2”,
W097°37,41.0”. Bear Creek Unit of Dixon Ranch. Chapin
Quadrangle. Elev. 950 ft.
Associates include Amorpha fruticosa, Dracopis amplexicaulis,
Eleocharis montevidensis, Fuirena simplex, Helenium elegans, Iva
angustifolia, Juncus interior, Muhlenbergia reverchonii, Paspalum
distichum, Phalaris caroliniana, Tridens albescens, Xanthium strumarium.
