grassland on soils mapped as Normangee clay loam (Vertic
Haplustalfs), on gentle slopes on gently rolling landscape
underlain by Blossom Sand, SE quarter of Tridens Prairie
Preserve, ca. 50-300 ft. W of St. Rt. 38 from points 0.3-0.4
mi. S of its jet. with US Rt. 82 just N of Brookston, at
N33°38'09.4”, W095°41’58.2”. Toco Quadrangle. Elev.
600-610 ft.
Grassland characterized by Sporobolus silveanus, Tripsacum dactyloides.
Other associates included Baptisia sphaerocarpa, Bifora americana, Car ex
bushii, Cirsium cf. engelmannii, Echinacea pallida, Elymus canadensis,
Euthamia gymnospermoides, Helianthus grosseserratus, H. mollis, H.
pauciflorus, Liatris pycnostachya, Lobelia appendiculata, Mimosa nuttallii,
