mapped as Normangee clay loam (Vertic Haplustalfs), on
gentle slopes near top of gently rolling landscape underlain
by Blossom Sand, S edge of Tridens Prairie Preserve, ca.
300-400 ft. W of St. Rt. 38 from a point 0.4 mi. S of its jet.
with US Rt. 82 just N of Brookston, near N33°38'09.4”,
W095°41’58.2”. Toco Quadrangle. Elev. 600-610 ft.
Grassland characterized by Sporobolus silveanus, Tripsacum dactyloides.
Other associates included Baptisia sphaerocarpa, Bifora americana, Carex
bushii, Cirsium cf. engelmannii, Echinacea pallida, Elymus canadensis,
Euthamia gymnospermoides, Helianthus grosseserratus, H. mollis, H.
pauciflorus, Liatris pycnostachya, Lobelia appendiculata, Mimosa nuttallii,
