The Republic of Georgia, Kazbegi District. Along the trail from
Tsminda Sameba Church to the Metrological Station on the
southeastern base of Kazbegi Peak, around and above a spring and
camp site just north of a southern branch of the River Chkheri
south of Glacier Gergeti, about 6.75 air km west of Kazbegi
(place known locally as Sabertse), 42°39'37 N, 44°33'32 E
(coordinates from hand-held GPS). Associated with Carex,
Luzula, Phleum, Poa, Alchemilla, Bistorta, Campanula,
Pedicularis, Saxifraga and Trifolium
Plant growing at base of rock; rhizomes slender; fronds barely
emerging from under rock.
