PLANTS OF THE REPUBLIC OF GEORGIA DRYOPTERIDACEAE File NY: fern cf Gymnocarpium dryopteris (L.) Newman det. D. E. Atha, 2005 The Republic of Georgia, Kazbegi District. Along the trail from Tsminda Sameba Church to the Metrological Station on the southeastern base of Kazbegi Peak, around and above a spring and camp site just north of a southern branch of the River Chkheri south of Glacier Gergeti, about 6.75 air km west of Kazbegi (place known locally as Sabertse), 42°39'37 N, 44°33'32 E (coordinates from hand-held GPS). Associated with Carex, Luzula, Phleum, Poa, Alchemilla, Bistorta, Campanula, Pedicularis, Saxifraga and Trifolium Plant growing at base of rock; rhizomes slender; fronds barely emerging from under rock.
