5*2 mi. E of the freeway over-
pass at Garberville, On a high
grassy ridge, not too badly
grazed. Seen in only one small
patch, in drying soil under a
power pole. Common Microseris
here is M. douglasii; M. elegans
rare. Locality far from the
coast is unusual for this species
suggesting introduction by sheep.
