Thallus containing calcium carbonate; filaments in upper portions monili-
form, di- or tricliotomously branched; lower cells 12.5 mik. in diameter
by 37.5 mik. in length, cylindrical; upper cells in general shorter and
wider, inflated, constricted at septations, sometimes cylindrical and nar-
rower; branches terminating in bristles.
In watering tanks.
