Creek enters Verde River, on N side of,
and above, Tangle Creek, T9N R6E section
27, near center east half, 2160 feet, 660
meters.
On top of hill overlooking Tangle Creek,
on large, flat overgrazed area, soil grayish,
appears previously (prehistorically?) disturbed
(farmed?), numerous potsherds found, vegeta-
tion different from adjacent hilltop, with
Menodora scabra, Senna covesii, Erioneuron
pulchellum, Ambrosia cf. confertiflora, Sim-
mondsia chinensis (in patches), Opuntia lepto-
caulis, O. bigelovii, O. engelmannii, Cercidium
microphyllum, Lycium (with big juicy fruits),
Echinocereus fasciculatus, Celtis pallida,
Ericameria laricifolia, Lotus rigidus, Sphaeral-
cea ambigua, robust Salvia columbariae.
Common, very large, robust plants with
many inflorescence heads, flowers deep blue.
