Near 34°42’45”N, 118°42’00”W T7NR17WSE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec. 8. Elevation ca 4000 - 4200 ft. Steep, sandy southerly slope above road cut. Grassland openings surrounded by denser chaparral vegetation. Open grassy areas with Salvia columbariae, Layia glandulosa, Chaenactis xantiana, Eschscholzia californica, Coreopsis bigelovii, Avena barbata, Bromus hordeaceus, etc. Annual, flowers lavender, anthers orange.
