Mexico. Jalisco. On the divide above headwaters of Río Mascota (25-30 km., airline, southeast of Talpa de Allende), 1-2 miles north of the sawmill "La Cumbre," and 11-12 road miles south of El Rincón.

Habitat
Steep mountainsides and barrancas. Fir forest with Pinus, Quercusm Ostrya, Cornus, Meliosma, Podocarpus. Not much seen.

Description
Treelike shrub 3 m. high, 5 cm. diameter, with upright branches; flowers yellow. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
