Near thepld sawmill site west of Bennett spring on the New-
ville-Covelo road, elevation about 3000 feet on a wooded north
slope in the yellow pine belt. Douglas fir is replacing the pine.
The principal undershrubs are Ceanothus, Toxicodendron and
Quercus dumosa.
