Coast Range at Alder Springs, elevation 4200 feet in open
gravelly places in the yellow pine belt. Other trees are Douglas
fir, sugar pine and incense cedar. The principal shrubs are Uva-
ursi. Ceanothus cordulatus and Grossularia Lobbii.
