CA 03075553 ARACEAE Monstera pinnatipartita Schott Puntarenas Along road between Rincón and Puerto Jimenez, 15 km S of Rincón; disturbed areas along road. 08°35fN 083*251W 30 m Epiphytic creeper; stems less than .5 long; internodes very short to 3 cm long, light green, smooth; juvenile plant appressed; stem more or less terete; leaves free; petioles densely and minutely pale punctate; sheath involute, flattened and sharply and narrowly winged (ca 1 mm); blades moderately coriaceous, semiglossy, medium green above, yellow-green beneath, never perforate; midrib broadly sunken above, narrowly convex below, paler; primary lateral veins sunken above, convex below, cream-colored; interprimary veins present, distinct, darker than surfaces; inflorescences erect, 4t5 per axil; peduncle densely and minutely pale- punctate; spathe acutely pointed, un- opened; spadixes greenish-yellow turn- ing cream-yellow; common locally. 4 March 1985 T.B.
