Growing in loamy soil in a brushy savanna with Prosopis glandulosa, Condalia hookeri, Aloysia gratissima, Guaiacum angustifolium, Colubrina texensis, Jatropha dioica, Zanthoxylum fagara, Karwinskia humboldtiana, Rhus microphylla, and Dio spy ros texana.
