In rocky (rhyolite) soil on steep, NW-facing slope with Quercus.
Junioerus, Pinus & Rhus. Plants perennial, to 1 m tall; leaves
mostly alternate; receptacle paleaceous; ray florets neutral, the
ligules yellow & deciduous; disc florets perfect, the styles cleft;
pappus absent; cypselae glabrous, compressed, 2-winged.
