Huayacocotla, Veracruz, Mexico, 28 April 1983.

Viscid decumbent herb, 40 cm. tall, 1 m. wide.
Odor of leaves and stem faintly objectionable.
Bracts and calyxes purple tinged. Corolla purple,
fragrant, bilabiate, with a yellow band extending
from the base of the throat to the edge of the
lower lip, the two lobes of the upper lip with
darker purple blotches. Fruits collected from
ground. N.v. "Cuernitos de Buey".
