1/2-3/4 of hour by trail down river from the
Hydroelectric Plant at Cahua. 16°05'S, 68o03'W; elev.
1400-1600 m. Moist forest.
Shrub, 3 Latex pale yellow. Mature fruits
white, fleshy, dehiscing by 5 valves. Seeds
embedded in orange aril along central groove
of each capsule valve.
