In cracks in cement of vacant lot, unshaded, with much
more Lactuca serriola, the two species very similar, but this
one less conspicuous. Flowers open (8:55 A.M., sunny), but
the heads very inconspicuous; corollas very pale yellow,
similar in size but paler than those of L. serriola, with light
purple on outside. Leaves dark green with central whitish
stripe.
