Phipps 2016 UWO Shrubs or small trees 2—3 m tall, white flowers 17-19 mm diameter, 20 pale pink anthers, 4—5 styles, thorns 21—40 mm, leaves shiny dark green; see 5 shrubs at southern end of extensive hawthorn thickets along both sides of dirt road (Quilakwa Road), full sun, with Prunus virginiana, Symphoricarpos albus, Berberis, Amelanchier alnifolia, Crataegus chrysocarpa, Lomatium nudicaule, junction of Route 97A and dirt path (Quilakwa Road), just NE of cemetery, 2.1 air km S of Enderby bridge, North Okanagan Regional District, elev. 395 m, 50.529° N, 119.137° W 29 April 2016 Coll.
