Mowed ungrazed grassy areas and gravelly roadbank, with
many introduced Eurasian weeds. Lotus corniculatus,
Melilotus albus, Daucus carota, Sonchus arvensis,
Hypochaeris radicata.
Solitary plants from erect base. Peduncle erect; flowers
bright yellow, open (10:00 A.M., sunny); outer flowers in a
head with dull purple-brown stripe on the outside.
