Campo rupestre and campo limpo vegetation interspersed with
wooded areas around rock outcrops and gallery forests.
Growing between 1367 and 1387 m elevation.
Shrubs or trees to 4 m tall with open branching. Leaves with a
glaucous cast. Flowers 8-merous. Petals fused at very base and
abscising as a unit with androecium. Petals pink throughout with
darker venation. Filaments white basally, otherwise red. Anthers
and pedoconnectives red with all appendages yellow. Local.
