Route 1. Elevation 200 feet. Gneissic granite ridge with
glacial sand and gravel soils with acidic humus.
Roadside, disturbed areas in spruce-fir-maple-birch
coastal forest. Flowers yellow, all rays ligulate, open
about mid-day; locally common stoloniferous perennial
scapose herb.
