3 Illinois Route 3 (FAP 312), McClure, west side,
between highway and Mississippi River levee
(Mississippi River Levee Road, 2412N) and north side
of the east-west Devil’s Island Road (508E), just north
of town line. Vicinity of abandoned bam. McClure 7.5
minute U.S.G.S. quadrangle. Elevation about 340 feet.
Disturbed moist silty sand; alluvial deposits.
Old field - open meadow adjoining floodplain forest,
degraded, dominated by Bromus inermis, fescue, brome,
Andropogon virginicus. Flowers yellow, heads with
pleasant camphor aroma; locally common herb 0.5
meter tall.
