Rosaceae
3 m tall shrubs, occasional, gray bark; buds
green to purple, glaucous, not sticky,
rufous-hairy (no gray hairs); leaves dull,
blue-green, glaucous, 7-11 leaflets; fruit
pink-red, glaucous and purplish, shiny when
rubbed, oblong, oblong-obovoid, or
obovoid, 9.2-12.2 x 7.2-11.1 mm wide;
infructescence 3.5-10 cm wide, 8-80 frt/infr;
2-5 sd/frt; seeds 4.4-5 x 2-2.3 mm wide;
cartilaginous carpel summit convex,
pubescent, carpel margins free most of
length; partial shade, brushy bank by
surface road, near Pacific Crest Trail, elev.
