F. W. Kent County Park is approximately 2.8 miles east/northeast of Oxford. A
4+ acre, average quality, mesic tallgrass prairie occurs north of a paved road in
the park. The park is on the Southern Iowa Drift Plain. Scleria trialomerata is
common in much of the prairie. It has green or white (only a few) fruits.
Sderia trinlomerata is associated with Achillea millefolium. Antennaria
nealecta, Carex bushii. Chamaecrista fasciculata. Dianthus armeria. Euphorbia
corollata, Helianthus arosseserratus. Lespedeza capitata. Monarda fistulosa.
Pyr.nanthemum tenuifolium, Schizachvrium scoparium. Sisvrinchium
campestre, finrohastrum nutans and Trifolium pratense.
