  • Description

    Gregarious. Pileus 10-25 mm broad, convex to plano-convex, to uplifted, moist, hygrophanous, deep red (10C8), scurfy to furfuraceous, fading and then the scurf ochre colored. Flesh 3-4 mm thick, red, unchanging, with mild odor and taste. lamellae decurrent, subdistant to distant, waxy, pale red on sides and pale yellow at margin when young, eventually pale orange to pale red overall with even edges. Stipe 3-5.5 cm long, 2-5 mm broad, equal to rarely slightly broader below, glabrous to finely silky striate, dry, deep red above, progressively pink to orange to yellow to white towards base, with white basal mycelium. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
