Twelve km. northwest of Petaluma, Sonoma County, in the
Upper Sonoran Zone.
Growing in a light gray loam on a gentle westerly slope. Asso-
ciated with Madia satvva (rather slender), Lotus americanus, Lolmm
perenne and other grasses.
Ligules pure white but striped below with reddish or greenish,
yellowish externally in bud. Bracts of the involucre 7.2 to 10 mm.
long. Ray-flowers 8 to 11; ligule 8 to 10.5 mm. long, 6 to 10 mm.
wide.
