ROSACEAE
Sprawling shrub to 1ft tall, locally common, younger
primocanes semi-erect, older ones arching downwards
and growing along the ground as floricanes, flowers
white. Growing at the edge of an artificial drainage
pond in sandy, disturbed soil (Nettles and Oldsmar
sands; sandy, siliceous, hyperthermic, (ortstein) Alfic
Arenic Alaquods), with Bacopa monnieri,
Chromolaena odorata, Drymaria cordata, Erechites
heiraciifolius, Eupatorium capillifolium, Hydrocotyle
umbellata, Lantana camara, Ludwigia peruviana,
Mikania scandens, Phytolacca americana, Sambucus
canadensis, Schinus terebinthefolius, Sida rhombifolia
& Urena lobata. By a gas station & a small car wash,
to the NW comer of the intersection of Peters Road &
Rt. 70 (Okeechobee Road). Fort Pierce, St. Lucie Co.
Elev. about 15ft. 27° 24' 51.5"N, 80° 23’ 42.8"W.
