  • Habitat

    Forest on gentle slopes, consisting of palms, bamboos (Bambusa, Chusquea, Merostachys), Pharus spp., Olyra sp., and mostly small trees. Plants common in forest with filtered light, especially abundant in more open, lighter areas. Soil reddish clay.

  • Description

    Parent plant produces flowering culms first and then becomes stooniferous. Stolons as much as 3 m long, at least those which were growing over an embankment where there were no other plants competing. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
