Description
The rough silica crystals that line the outsides of Equisetum plants have been used to abrasively cleanse tools, dishes, and skin. Equisetum plants were traditionally used to treat bladder and kindney problems, constipation, gonorrhea, bronchitis, hemorrage, wounds, and osteoporosis. Equisetum plants have killed livestock by depleting vitamin B in those that ingest it. Equisetum plants have been found to prevent the growth of some human leukemia cells in vitro laboratory studies. Equisetum plants signficantly increased the speed of dermal wound healing in laboratory rats. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
