ROSACEAE
Low-creeping subshrub, stems reddish, leaves yellow-green,
locally abundant. In an open meadow on a west-facing slope,
in sandy loam (Hinckley sandy loam, 8 to 15 percent slopes;
sandy-skeletal, mixed, mesic Typic Udorthents). Growing
with Achillea millefolium, Arabis glabra, Aronia sp., Carex
pensylvanica, Coronilla sp., Dichanthelium commutatum, D.
linariifolium, D. oligosanthes, Euphorbia cyparissias,
Festuca ovina, Helianthemum sp., Hypericum perforatum,
Juniperus virginiana, Linaris canadensis, Malus sp.,
Oenothera biennis, Parthenocissus sp., Phytolacca
americana, Populus tremuloides, Quercus alba, Q. ilicifolia,
Q. velutina, Rhamnus cathartica, R. frangula, Robinia
hispida, Rubus allegheniensis, R. allegheniensis Porter x R.
setosus, R. flagellaris, R. occidentalis, Rumex acetosella,
Schizachyrium scoparium, Solidago rugosa, Spiraea alba,
Vaccinium angustifolium, V. pallidum, Verbascum thapsus,
