RANCHO SANTA ANA BOTANIC GARDEN Flora of Los Angeles County, California, USA ASTERACEAE Gutierrezia sarothrae (Pursh) Britton & Rusby Liebre Mountains, upper end of Castaic Creek drainage in broad alluvial valley at head of Cienaga Canyon, south of Liebre Mountain, just south of the boundary of Knapp Ranch area. Near 34°40’30”N, 118°40’18”W. T7N R17WNW 1/4 NE 1/4 NW 1/4 sec. 27. Elevation ca 2760 ft. Broad valley grading to the SSE with drier scrub dominated terraces above active riparian strip with dense woodland of Salix, Platanus, etc. Soils derived from decomposed granite.
