NM: San Juan Co. Along NM 170, ca. 1 mi S of New Mexico-Colorado state line.
\Plants common in rocky soil of hwy shoulder,
many plants occurring in mowed area, others
in non-mowed areas. Those in non-mowed
areas well past flowering, those in mowed
areas have almost completed flowering.
1.0-2.0 ft. tall.
Apparent hybrid between G. squarrosa var.
serrulata (Wetter 584) and G. aphanactis
(Wetter 5*8GT. Intermediate in head
morphology, ray flowers very short, etc.
Due to advanced flowering state, not able to
confirm meiotically.
