Plants common but scattered along hwy
shoulder and in disturbed area of railroad
access turn off. 1.0-2.0 ft tall. Both ray
and disk taxa present,, discoid taxon
predominates in off-shoulder area, and in
general. Some plants growing in area that
may have been mowed. Radiate taxon growing
intermixed and apparently hybridizing with
Wetter 573B (£. fastigiata). Both of these
collections, Wetter 573A & 573B represent a
hybrid swarm between G. squarrosa and G.
fastigiata. Wetter 573B is closer to true
£. fastigiata.
