The New York Botanical Garden Plants of COLORADO Grindelia subalpina E. Greene CO: Douglas/El Paso Co.: Along Interstate 25, 10.9 mi S of rest area (Douglas Co.) at County Line Rd. Plants common, but scattered in rocky soil along road and in adjacent pasture. 1.0-2.0 ft. tall, although some plants may have been mowed. Many plants past flowering. Many plants with just one main stem, others with 2-several from a taproot. Some plants appear to be perennial, with new rosettes forming on flowering plants.
